Description
Skunk Cabbage
Showing the bloom and the changing into leaves. This is now the second year I've tried photographing skunk cabbage, and I don't seem to have much luck getting good shots. This was rather hard to get and I feel that it was worth it.
Info: The spathe is approx. 6"(15.2cm), which surrounds the flower covered spadix. Very early bloomer Feb-April. Guides say it smells like rotted meat, I think it smells like sour garbage.
Location: G.R. Thompson Wildlife Managment Area - Linden, Virginia.
Comments are appreciated.

Lovely shapes and colours. Just too bad of the name.
